Wrexham Community Choir is delighted to welcome Northern Harmony , the unique world-music vocal ensemble from Vermont in the USA,  back to Wrexham for a singing workshop and concert on Sunday 8th May at Wrexham Methodist Church.

Since 1993, Northern Harmony has toured and performed widely throughout America and Europe to great critical acclaim. Their repertoire features songs and dances from South Africa,  American shape-note songs, quartet gospel and contemporary compositions and  traditional songs from Corsica and the Balkans. They have  a powerful, natural, unrestrained, vocal sound; a remarkable variety of vocal styles and timbres and their  vibrant performances continue to enthrall new and old audiences across the world.

Wendy Paintsil, Co-Founder of Wrexham Community Choir said “They have a world reputation and we are delighted that Northern Harmony has chosen Wrexham for their only performance in Wales on their European tour this year.”

Join Larry Gordon and Northern Harmony for a singing workshop including American shape-note singing, gospel, and South African songs. The Northern Harmony singers will support each vocal part, making the teaching easy and rewarding. No experience is necessary.

The workshop will be followed  by a concert of world harmony traditions including South African songs and dances, traditional polyphony from Georgia, Corsica, and the Balkans, American shape-note singing and quartet gospel songs.
